 2007 Military Research Reports that the military market is becoming an ever more upscale target for providers of goods and services.

  • Average age is 29
  • 62% attended college
  • Average income for active duty military is $44,900. (Spouse adds significantly more)
  • Military families account for 39% of the household income in Colorado Springs
  • 70% of active duty military personnel are married

New Director of Sales

KRDO-TV

   Joel Minsker recently joined the KRDO team as Director of Sales, from our sister stations in Palm Springs, CA, where he spent the last 4 years. Joel has been in the media business for the better part of two decades, starting with capital cities/BCA in New York, and followed by stints in Houston, Chicago, Rochester, Kansas City, Las Vegas and Albuquerque. He has sold TV as a local Account Executive and as a National Rep, in addition to management positions on both the local & national sides. Joel is originally from upstate NY, where most of his family still resides and graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a degree in finance.

Total Broadcast TV Revenues were down 4.4% in 2007

New York, Feb. 29, 2008 -- Total broadcast television ad revenues were down 4.4% in 2007, compared to 2006, according to the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB) analysis of estimates supplied by TNS Media Intelligence/CMR, reflecting the absence of the Olympics and election-year political dolalrs.      Local broadcast TV posted a 9.5% decline for the year, syndicated TV posted a 1.5% drop, and network TV saw a 1.2% drop.  In the fourth quarter of 2007, total broadcast TV posted a 5.6% decline. The component parts of that total saw local broadcast television posting a 17.2% decline, syndicated TV posting a 7.9% gain, and network TV posting a 1.9% gain.

CPM SCHOLARSHIP

 

   After four years of collecting monies from our Associate Members dues and selling mouse pads, we now have a total of $1360 in our scholarship fund. After a vote, at the April '08 meeting, CPM will be adding money from their general operating fund to make the scholorship a total of $1500.
